The Program:

 

Luminous Phenomena - Along the Way features 5 dancers with original live and recorded music by composer Jessica Krash.

Bona Fides is a celebration of female kinship and tea rituals, accompanied by Anthony Hyatt on violin.

Placehold is a dance/music improvisation by the NHDPG dancers and musicians Nate Scheible (percussion) and Gary Rouzer (cello and found intruments).

 

Words For Music Perhaps: Ara Fitzgerald and composer Wall Matthews reprise excerpts from their full-length collaboration based on the poems of W. B. Yeats, with Adam Gonzalez (cello).

Slow Dancing is Easy celebrates the delicious excuse of holding a partner close and slowly swaying.

Life of a Flower recreates a classic piece by the legendary dance / clown performer Lotte Goslar.

Ara Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald is a New York dance theatre artist and improviser who was a member of Daniel Nagrin’s The Workgroup and The Entourage Music and Theatre Ensemble where she first worked with composer Wall Matthews. She has choreographed on and off Broadway and been produced around the world. A graduate of Connecticut College and Wesleyan University she has taught at Connecticut College, the National Theatre Institute, Trinity Square Conservatory, the Hartman Conservatory and is currently Director of Dance and Theatre at Manhattanville College, Purchase, NY.
